"The course is absolutely gorgeous. The greens are particularly challenging so bring your short game. I would love to have given Graeagle Meadows five stars, except for the invasiveness of the course marshal. Our fifth try at this location, 4th in the AM and while I understand the etiquette in keeping up, we are newer to the game, and given we were paired with a faster couple, we are going to let them lead our group with our developing skills trailing theirs. The last two experiences this same gentleman suggested scrambles and short tees, invasively following at 1st, 3rd and 6th holes. While endearing the first visit, has now become more hostile and I'm not a fan of curtailing my experience. Also really blows our game. Heck, I'd give GM 10 stars if this one factor were improved. On the fence in trying this course again."

"Played here for a bachelor party with 8 of us. Everything was explained at the point of purchase and the greens were fantastic. T-off boxes were sanded and the fairways were nice as well."

"Fun track to play! Staff were extremely friendly. Course was in solid shape. It reminds me of one of my home courses but with great views. There’s some dead areas on some of the course but I can’t knock it a star for it. Go check it out if you’re in the area we will be back!"

"My grandparents used to put on a tournament every year at this course. I think it was 1985 or so till 1992, I was only 12 years old so not exactly sure on the dates. I remember a really nice course, and great staff. Thank you so much for hosting us."

"Fantastic course. Well manicured and the greens run fast. Nice long fairways, lined by pines. The occasional sneaky bunker or water trap to keep you on your toes Beautiful back drops of Forrest and wildlife. Only downside is the cart paths. Like driving off-road."

About Graeagle Meadows

Opened in 1968, Graeagle Meadows is where Graeagle golf began. Ellis Van Gorder routed the course through open meadows and ponderosa pines alongside the Feather River — a layout that rewards placement over power. Par 72, 6,759 yards, slope 120, rating 71.4. The most forgiving of the five Graeagle courses, and consistently the best value green fee in the valley. Graeagle Meadows tee times are the most accessible of any course here. The course is publicly owned and managed — walk-on availability exists most mornings, and group tee times can be reserved weeks in advance. For groups looking to mix a challenging course one day with a friendlier layout the next, Graeagle Meadows is the obvious anchor of a multi-course itinerary. The on-site restaurant serves breakfast and lunch daily in season. Carts are available and the pace of play is relaxed by Graeagle standards. If your group includes mixed handicaps, this is the course that keeps everyone in a good mood. Graeagle Meadows golf packages through GolfGraeagle include cart, tee time, and optional lodging at properties within five minutes of the first tee.

Signature Holes

Hole 6 · Par 4 "English Gold"

Elevated tees drop to a tree-lined fairway with sweeping views of Mohawk Valley, the Feather River, and the Sierra Nevada beyond. One of the most photographed holes in the valley.

Best For

First-time Graeagle visitors, mixed-handicap groups, and anyone who wants a classic mountain round without the penalty-heavy terrain of the higher-slope courses.

Know Before You Book

Single-digit handicappers looking for a serious test — slope 120 plays comfortably and won't challenge low-handicap golfers the way Whitehawk, Grizzly, or Nakoma will.

How It Fits Your Trip

The ideal arrival-day round. Easy enough to shake off travel, close to the village, and sets the tone for the valley. Most 3-day packages start here on day one.
